Literature Text

Our darkened world ensnared by sin.
How long it's been, how long it's been.
Our hearts are cold.
Our spirits grown weary and old.

Shining in this eternal night.
Is bright beautiful star-light.
And with it angels' voices sing.
Oh the blessed hope it brings.

'In a manger' the angels sing,
'There will lie the King of Kings'
Far and wide we look for the child.
Born so lowly, meek, and mild.

There he is, look at him smile.
Our darkened world now reconciled.
Our hearts are thawed.
And to this hope we kneel in awe.
And there were shepherds living in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. Luke 2:8
